Iron Man 3 review
It has been a long time since I saw the first two Iron Man movies; 8 years I believe. During that time I have forgotten a lot about the world and the plot of Iron Man, but gladly the movie caught me up pretty fast back to the groove of things.
Tony Stark is back, bigger and better than ever. He’s living a peaceful life in his awesome mansion, with his beautiful girlfriend Pepper, enjoying life. There’s only one thing wrong: he’s suffering some PTSD after the alien attack that occurred during the Avengers. He can’t sleep due to it and uses his time building new and improved suits one after another. And to make matters worse, the peaceful lifestyle has to end when a terrorist group and their leader Mandarin bomb his house almost killing him and Pepper and demolishing their home. Devastated by this, Tony goes after Mandarin with everything he’s got.
The movie provides a lot of action, excitement and humour. There are a lot of smart and funny dialogue between Tony and the other characters and the plot is overall quite encaging. However there are a lot of reused elements and plot lines from previous movies, which makes it all feel a bit repetitive, since this is the third movie already. Yet again another genius comes up and challenges Tony with an invention to rival his suits and to take them to their limits. The whole thing is just amped up made bigger and better, risking more with even bigger rewards.
But still the movie was really grandiose and entertaining to watch. The special effects and well choreographed movements of the actors, in and out of the fights were really pleasing to look ar and it really showed how the makers of the film have the experience and ability to make something amazing. Overall I think this was a good way to end the Iron Man trilogy by resolving everything and providing an happy ending… Until the next Avengers of course.
