Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2

Next up is the second instalment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. It was really nice seeing this right after the first one since all the characters and plot points were still fresh in my mind. Also since in reality it was 3 years in between these two movies it was really cool seeing how the technology and just overall the story telling methods had advanced during this time.

The story continues not long after the first film's ending. The group has stuck together and now do little gigs for people who are willing to pay them and there are quite a lot of them because now everyone knows them throughout the whole galaxy after the last movies incidents. The movie kicks of with this beautiful scene where the guardians are fighting a huge space monster but instead of the camera focusing on the fight the audience gets to enjoy the awesome dance moves of baby groot, the most lovable little humanoid plant crature in the whole galaxy. The story then branches of into many different directions with multiple sub stories inside the bigger picture but it still manages to keep it all cohesive and easily undertandable.

All of the visuals are just amazing, again. The colourful worlds and characters just keep on building on top of them selves and it just makes the whole movie so much more interesting. All the characters build deeper relationships with each other and it really gets touching at times. The dialogue is clever and well written and make me fall in love with this world even more.

Overall the movie is a great successor for the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. It manages to do a lot with the already establshed characters but in my opinion it still for some reason doesn’t really stack up with the first one. There is some lack of emotion or meaning present in the movie but i really can't put my finger on it. Still it was a really enjoyable movie experience and I really recommend watching it.
