Guardians of the Galaxy review
Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the Marvel movies I've been most looking forward to seeing, and this was the perfect excuse to do so. I've watched all the trailers, heard all the rumours and the praise it has gotten so I'm fully prepared to see what all the fuzz is about.
The story begins in 1988 when a young Peter Quill is abducted from Earth by the Ravagers, a group of space pirates, right after his mothers death. They rise him as one of their own and teach him their ways. Jump forward 26 years and Peter now travels the galaxy salvaging anything of value for resale. When he comes across a silver orb however, he gets more than he's bargained for. It is revaealed to contain one of the most powerful items in existence: an infinity stone and a very powerful being called Ronan is after it and intends on using it for evil. So it is left to Peter and his newfound friends Gamora, Drax, Groot and Rocket to stop him.
The movie is such a breath of fresh air doing something completely different from the other Marvel movies. It abandons the normal lone superhero trope for a lively sci-fi fantasy adventure packed full with different memorable characters and settings. Everything from the designs of the characters to their personalities and their weapons are so carefully planned out and placed together that it really produces such a vide range of different feeling characters. So they are able to make the world seem so much bigger full of life and different forms of beings that it really makes the viewer excited to see what's next. All the cool different technologies and accessories just blend into this awesome mess of a action film.
If you are going to watch one movie from the MCU this is one movie from the franchise that i really recomend. It has got everything that you could possibly imagine and then some. Truly one of the best movies i’ve seen in a while.
